DAR MŁODZIEŻY

Dar Młodzieży is one of Poland's best-known sailing ships. It is also an important training ship for future merchant navy officers. Launched in 1981 at Gdańsk Shipyard, it replaced famous Dar Pomorza and has served as a training ship since 1982.

The ship has taken part in many international sailing events and has visited ports around the world. It won Cutty Sark Tall Ships' Races in 1982, shortly after entering service.

One of its most important voyages took place in 2018-2019. Dar Młodzieży sailed around the world as part of celebrations marking 100 years of Polish independence. During the voyage, it sailed about 38,000 nautical miles, visited 23 ports in 18 countries and passed Cape Horn.

For Poland, Dar Młodzieży is more than a sailing ship. It represents maritime education, Polish sailing tradition and generations of young people gaining experience at sea. Today, it remains an active training ship, where students continue to learn and gain practical experience during voyages across seas and oceans.
