Large Brass Astrolabe is a great gift for the astronomer and science lover. The astrolabe, also called an armillary sphere, was used by great scholars, such as Copernicus, to determine ecliptic and equatorial coordinates. Various mathematical calculations could be carried out on it, such as determining the time of sunrise and sunset, the length of day, the astronomical altitude of the sun and stars.

Astrolabe - an astronomical instrument that symbolizes humanity's scientific ambition and quest to understand the universe. At one time they decorated royal courts and the homes of scholars taking extremely ornate forms.

The central point of the astrolabe is the Earth, which is surrounded by rings representing the equator, the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, and the zodiacal ring. The latter represents the Sun's annual path through the zodiacal constellations.
