Abacus H93 tide computer - key ring

Abacus tide computer, a device that allows predicting the time of the appearance of tides. The instrument consists of a fixed dial marked with degrees from 0 to 360, an hour scale and a wind rose. Mounted on it are 2 movable dials. One - indicating the lunar month with a scale of 1-30 and the other with an indicator, under which is the shape of the moon, which changes under the influence of moving the indicator. The device takes into account the direction of the wind, the number of days since the new moon, the current age of the moon, which makes it possible to predict tides.

Miniature mechanical tide computer - a reproduction of a 1570 device built by Humphrey Cole. The original is kept in the British Museum in London.

Made of znallium and brass, lacquered using a technique from several hundred years ago. On the other side of the device a beautiful wind rose.
