The astrolabe is an astronomical instrument that symbolizes human curiosity, scientific ambition, and mankind's goal to understand the universe.
In the centre of the astrolabe is the Earth. It is surrounded by rings representing the equator, the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, and the zodiac ring. The latter represents the annual path of the Sun through the zodiacal constellations.
